For those who need a litte more... 

D.R. Mattox:  A civil engineer specialized in contracting who found that tower cranes, big equipment, and loud noises appealed to the part of his being that never grew up. Still, building alone was not enough, so he decided to write a story like those he had grown up reading and admiring––the kind that blended grand stakes, improbable heroes and heroines, and depths of the heart and mind all into one adventurous tale. That endeavor resulted in his first book, Aphotic, the heart of which is inspired by real children, real families, unbelievable odds, and incredible joy.

All author proceeds from Aphotic book sales, will be donated to Cure SMA (https://www.curesma.org/), Leo's Pride Foundation (http://www.leospride.org/), and other similarly inspired foundations, groups, and nonprofits.
